a hard stretch of hill. i'm not going to shift down, though, i come up off the saddle, i'm pushing it. one more kilometer to climb. it's so incredibly pitiful that i ever wanted to do this, but now i'm stuck with it.

the original...

Here are a few pictures of the original singlespeed - the Iron Horse MT400 conversion.

Painted scheme was "Carbon tubing in aluminum lugs." Don't be deceived... this thing was a tank.

Built up with many of the original components. The rear wheel was my first attempt at wheel building.

Some stenciling provided an affirmation of the drivetrain's status. I'm pretty sure I ripped that idea off of drunkcyclist.

    Ahh the ol' Rennen Rollenlager. I could never get mine to line up correctly. No matter how many times I tried to re-engineer the thing, adding washers, spacers and such, it just never worked as I thought it should. Don't even get me started on the Surly P.O.S. tensioner.
